Technical Assistant

Vacancy Type: Maternity Cover up to 9-12 months

Full/Part Time: Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm (some flexibility available)

Start Date: August/September 2019

Background: Animal Feed business based in the South of England, though with a major difference to the main commercial feed companies.  We have a fleet of Mobile Feed Mills taking the service to the farms and producing the feed on farm using mainly the farm’s own produce. We operate from 2 depots, our main offices in Dorset and subsidiary unit in Kent.  A fleet of 5 modern Mobile Feed Mills provide an on-farm service in an area stretching as far West as Devon, as far East as Essex and as far North as Oxfordshire, with all areas in between. In addition to the service we also supply a range of products; Minerals, Proteins, additives etc., to complement the feeds produced as well as providing nutritional and technical support to our customers. www.bwfeeds.com

The Role: Technical Assistant.
Mainly office based it will be a varied role covering areas such as customer service and support (including diet formulation), sales, quality assurance, logistics, working closely with both farmers and other members of staff. Hopefully this will allow the candidate to gain useful knowledge and experiences in this specialised sector of the animal feed industry

Location: Bussey Stool Farm, Tarrant Gunville, Blandford, Dorset DT11 8JS

Personal Requirements: Good IT skills with attention to detail. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Confidence and ability to liaise with customers, suppliers and other members of staff. Agricultural background/knowledge; particular knowledge in animal nutrition would be helpful but not essential.

Other Requirements: Right to work in UK and UK valid driving licence.

Salary/Package: £9/hour. Temporary accommodation may be available.
